Hawzah News Agency- In a statement released on Tuesday, Mousavi described the incident as “a blatant insult to the religious sentiments of Muslims” and a “serious threat to national unity, peace, and social cohesion.”
He cautioned that such acts, often associated with Takfiri elements seeking to inflame sectarian tensions, are designed to undermine communal harmony and destabilize society. “These malicious actions aim to damage social tranquility and disrupt the bonds of brotherhood among the people,” he said, adding that they could jeopardize public order and national security if left unchecked.
The cleric underscored the importance of patience, restraint, and adherence to the principles of fraternity and tolerance, urging members of the public not to fall prey to provocations. He called on relevant authorities to take immediate and lawful measures to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents and to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
Referring to the spiritual legacy of Imam Husayn ibn Ali (PBUH), Mousavi highlighted the universal message embodied in the commemorations of Karbala. “Sacred sites such as Karbala, as well as symbolic representations of Karbala in India, have for centuries conveyed lessons of humanity, compassion, tolerance, and resistance against oppression,” he stated. “These places are not only revered by Muslims, but are also respected by followers of other faiths as symbols of spirituality and moral courage.”
He further appealed to the government of Uttar Pradesh to act decisively in accordance with the law, stressing that India’s true strength lies in its unity, pluralism, and shared civilizational heritage.
Concluding his remarks, Mousavi prayed for the protection of the nation from sedition, sectarian strife, and divisive forces, expressing hope that unity, peace, and brotherhood would be reinforced across Indian society.
